  • Looking at the design of the Honor X9b, it seems that the company has learned something from Realme’s PlayBook. The camera module is surrounded by two golden rings. The outer ring has ridges that accentuate the prominence of the camera module, while the inner ring highlights the text ‘Matrix AI Vision Camera’ written on the smartphone.
  • Additionally, the handset has a curved screen and plastic frame. At the same time, the smartphone weighs just 185 grams and has a thickness of 7.98 mm. Also, there is a punch-hole cutout in the middle on the front of the phone, in which the front camera is placed.

  • On the front, there is a centre punch-hole for the selfie camera. At the same time, very thin bezels have been given in the handset. The phone has a 6.78 -inch AMOLED display with 1.5 k resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, 1920Hz PWM dimming, and 1200 nits peak brightness.

  • The Honor X9b has a large 108MP primary camera, paired with a 5MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP macro unit. The handset has a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calling. During the first impressions, we found that the quality of photos in the illuminated areas is good, especially from the main 108MP camera that outputs 12MP photos by default.

  • The Honor X9b is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC, which arrived in India with the Realme 12 Pro earlier this year. It is a mid-range octa-core chipset with 2.2 GHz clock speed, Adreno A710 GPU, and a built-in 5G modem. The SoC is paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. Also, the RAM can be expanded up to about 8GB using a portion of the phone’s storage.

  • In terms of software, the Honor X9b runs on Android 13-based MagicOS 7.2 out of the box. This is a slightly older software, but the company claims that a new update is coming. The handset is expected to get two years of major software upgrades and three years of security updates.

  • In terms of battery, the HONOR X9b packs a 5,800mAh battery and supports 35W fast charging. In the first impression, we noticed that the charging speed on the smartphone is quite slow. Even with the official 30W charger, the Honor X9b takes two and a half hours to fully charge from 0-100 percent.

At the same time, Motorola Edge 40 is equipped with some great features like clean software and IP68 rating and wireless charging capabilities.
